Road Tax, M.O.T. and The Law
A tax disc, displayed on your vehicle used to act as a reminder of when your road tax was due and as you needed a current M.O.T. certificate to obtain a new one, you were also reminded to
check your vehicle's M.O.T. status too. Since tax discs are no longer issued, we have lost our visual reminder of when it is due.
Reminders to tax your vehicle will still be sent by the DVLA but the danger is, if for some reason you do not receive the reminder, you could easily be driving an untaxed vehicle
or one without a current M.O.T. and the first indication of this is a flashing blue light in your rear view mirror. Check the status of both your M.O.T. and Road Tax NOW and make sure to write those
dates on your calendar, diary or somewhere else as letting either of them lapse will be expensive and could also mean points on your licence.
